I just picked up the crib bedding...
Pics to follow when we get a crib, lol. (That will be sometime in the second trimester!!!) The baby is gonna have a wonderful nursery. *smiles*

Put the credit card down...
Ok, so I'll admit it. I've been baby shopping. Not a whole lot, but they've been very impulsive buys...and I'M JUST NOT LIKE THAT!
Example 1: While cruising the i-net for possible crib bedding choices (for future purposes) I discovered that the theme we picked out back in the day (when we were still dreaming) had been discontinued!!! Not that anything was wrong with the bedding/theme, and it definitely wasn't recalled, it's just been around for a while...and I guess it lost popularity. However, DP and I still love it, and for the last 4-5 years have been picturing a nursery built around it. So...I hit up e.bay. Sure enough, after about 15 minutes of searching, I found a new set (which included a few used nursery items - light show crib toy, decorations, etc. - in a gender neutral color scheme! I whined, wishing I could purchase now, and DP left the room (i thought because she was tired of hearing me whine). In she came with her credit card, and just like that...we bought the bedding. It was more than I was hoping to pay for crib bedding, but in terms of prices for this particular discontinued theme, it was reasonable. It was delivered today, but we weren't here to sign for the package...so it now sits at the post office until I can pick it up tomorrow.
Example 2: Yesterday, while checking out the craigs.list baby section, someone in my city was selling a gently used fetal doppler for only FIFTY DOLLARS! New, the doppler would have cost me $150 (plus shipping). Impulsively, and without asking lovey if she supported the potential purchase, I emailed the seller. I hadn't heard anything until this afternoon, so I then had to rearrange my day to go meet the seller and pick up my steal of a deal. Of course I brought it home and tried it immediately. Yes, i know 8weeks5days is WAY TOO early to hear the HB, but do you blame me for trying? However, i was able to make sure the doppler worked correctly, as I was able to pick up my own heartbeat loud and clear. I'm hoping that within the next few weeks I'm able to pick up the baby's heartbeat.
So, i'm making it a point not to buy anymore baby related items until AT LEAST the end of the 1st trimester. It's all so tempting though! Were you able to resist?

Jellybean has graduated to a Gummi Bear!
We saw our lil gummi bear again today...it was beautiful. It was measuring right on target at 8wks3days. We saw it's little heart beating away, but before we were able to hear it...the patient in room 221 was delivering, so our doc hurried out. She did mention that everything was looking good, and that we'd start tapering my prometrium at 10 weeks. She also said she was going to talk to the radiologist so that we can get this MRI happening, so we can once and for all determine that the fibroid is a fibroid. I got tons of labs drawn, and my inner elbow is bruised and still sore after about 6 hours. :-( I wont have another appointment until my birthday, at the end of June. I'll be 12 weeks. We are planning on getting a fetal doppler so we can listen to the HB at home. I talked to the doc about the pain/cramp and the spotting. She said the placenta looked good, there were no bleeds, and that the cervix was measuring well and was tightly closed. So the spotting was definitely not pregnancy related. :-) Good news all around. I'm pretty happy with today.
